Ex-Page Six Scribe Working On Horror Screenplay

EXCLUSIVE

Jared Paul Stern isn’t the only ex-Page Sixer with a new project in the works. Ian Spiegelman, former Page Six writer and author of the scandalmongering novel Welcome to Yesterday — not to mention and star of his own horror video on FishbowlNY — is prepping a horror screenplay.

Spiegelman, who says he has never written a screenplay, told FishbowlNY that Creative Artists Agency sent him 20 old horror movie scripts for inspiration. Spiegelman said, adding that he hopes to have the first draft done by February. “I’ve got a stack of classics from CAA on my desk — Halloween, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Last House on the Left,” says Spiegelman. “I’m trying to write something along the lines of the slasher flicks I grew up on — Friday the 13th parts 2 through 4, Madman, Dawn of the Dead, Hell Night, Phantasm, Terror Train — and not one of those contemporary torture movies, though I guess they have their place.”

As far as exactly what his ideas for the film are, Spiegelman is uncharacteristically mum: “As much as my idea might suck, I’ve learned through sore experience that there are lot of truly sucky writers who write much faster than I do.”

Spiegelman also says he has finished ghost-writing a non-fiction book that will hit shelves in February.

Hopefully that one’s not a horrow show.
