The quality of swag at the shows isn't always that fab (in fact, sometimes it's downright troubling). Does anyone really need another tote bag from Women's Entertainment? But this year, Lycra has managed to offer something that's whipped the fashionistas into a frenzy -- skinny jeans with that all forgiving fabric -- lycra. Designers like Zac Posen, Derek Lam and Phillip Lim are all singing its praises and the elastic jeans have quickly become the must-have item of the week. Lycra's groovy little sponsored lounge inside the tents has attracted editors from Vogue, Glamour, Marie Claire and Lucky , all of whom have left with a pair of the haute pants. Yesterday, a flack named Emma was trying to discern the hipsters from the hopefuls. Two over-accessorized gals were trying their best to score a pair but were told (nicely) that unless you were on a list for an "appointment" to be fitted, you were out of luck. The women -- fashion editors from out of town who, out of embarrassment declined to give their names -- left with a tote bag as a consolation prize. One did manage to swipe a copy of The Bikini Book by Kelly Killoren Bensimon (Assouline) and that was on display.
