Fast Company Launching FastCompany.tv

0116fastco.jpgWeb 2.0-ish magazine Fast Company will be unveiling an online television network in 2008. The President of parent company Mansueto Digital, Edward Sussman, just informed FishbowlNY that their new site FastCompany.tv (link currently unavail) will be launching in March. In news sure to please the Fast Company/Silicon Alley Insider/Valleywag/etc. crowd, noted tech blogger Robert Scoble has been hired to oversee the new operation. Scoble’s blog, Scobleizer, will come under the Mansueto Digital banner as well. Scoble will star in original content for the network along with “other well known personalities.”

Famed Technology Blogger Robert Scoble to Run as Managing Director

NEW YORK, January 16, 2008 – Mansueto Digital President Edward Sussman today announced the launch of FastCompany.TV, a new online video network featuring coverage of bleeding edge technology trends, interviews with leading executives and business people, reviews of the latest technology products, and lifestyle programming.

Robert Scoble, one of the most popular technology bloggers in the world, will serve as Managing Director of the site, which is slated to launch in March.

Scoble’s daily video series, ScobleTV, will be featured on FastCompany.TV. Scoble’s current video show receives about one million views a month. Scoble is highly regarded for his coverage of emerging technology trends from both startups and established tech companies, especially in the Web 2.0 and social media space.

Scoble will also bring his popular blog, Scobleizer.com, to the Mansueto Digital network of sites, which includes FastCompany.com, Inc.com, IncBizNet.com and IncTechnology.com.

Robert Scoble became a technology celebrity when he joined Microsoft’s Channel 9 MSDN Video team, where he wrote openly about Microsoft, occasionally criticizing his employer and praising competitors’ products, winning him legions of fans who respected his honesty. This year, Scoble was voted #9 on Forbes’ list of the Top 25 Internet Celebrities.
