FishbowlNY Easter edition: 78% of Americans and 81% of Newsweek readers

jesuscovers.jpgWe’d have forgotten it was Easter weekend were it not for the dueling (and consistently annual) Whither Christianity? covers on this week’s Time and Newsweek. According to Newsweek, “78 percent of Americans believe Jesus rose from the dead.” And according to Newsweek’s online poll, 81% of Newsweek readers believe Jesus rose from the dead. This would seem to indicate that Newsweek readers are more religious than the general population—unless those sneaky Christians have been stuffing the ballot box.
