FishbowlNY Inspires A NY Times Correction

This will be our last Rickroll post. Promise.

Yesterday, FishbowlNY was the first New York media outlet to reveal how a Washington State television station got a college student to admit he pranked the New York Times.

Basically, the now-infamous viral video of a Rick Astley lookalike breakin onto the floor of a college basketball game to do a real-life Rickroll was entirely faked. The video uploaded to YouTube… well, it was cobbled together out of pre-existing footage — and fooled the Times (along with many of us).

This morning, the correction shown above was added to both the print edition of the Times and the paper’s website. C’est la vie.
