Five Percent of New Yorkers Support Higher Taxes to Save the NYT

newyorktimes04.10.09.jpgOne way to save The New York Times would be to raise taxes. But would New Yorkers support that plan? Not according to 100 people polled by New York.

While 69 would be okay with a tax increase to support universal health care and 67 said sure to provide better funding for schools only five people surveyed think raising taxes to support the Gray Lady is a good idea.

Looks like Sulzberger Jr. and the gang will have to find another way. Anyone have Google‘s phone number?
