Former Marine Flak Joins Al Jazeera

Former Marine captain Josh Rushing, the media liaison featured in Control Room, now works for Al Jazeera. A cheery press release about Rushing’s new job didn’t clarify what he’ll be doing and certainly did not mention the bounty likely on his head from current and former Marines.

Al Jazeera is planning a global launch in the first quarter of 2006, and Rushing’s “actual role with the channel will be confirmed closer to launch.”

We loved you in Control Room, Josh. We really did. And we knew things would be happening for you the minute we walked out of that theater. I don’t think we expected this, though. So be careful. Some of your colleagues may not be documentary-film types.
