Former Z100 and WPLJ Personality Patty Steele Joins 77 WABC
Veteran radio personality Patty Steele has signed on with WABC-AM, effective next Monday. Steele will be producer and sidekick for midday host Joe Crummey.
For several years at WPLJ, Steele had been news director and morning show on-air contributor for Scott Shannon and Todd Pettengill.
“Patty is loved by all who know her. She’s whip-smart, spontaneous, and real,” Laurie Cantillo, WABC program director, tells FishbowlNY. ”When she was a guest recently with Joe, I was blown away by the listener response, with many calling her a ‘breath of fresh air.’”
Steele also spent time as a DJ at WHTZ/Z100, and was an anchor at WCBS 880 in the 1990s.
Crummey’s show airs from 10 a.m. to noon.
