Goumba Johnny Out at WKTU

Longtime WKTU afternoon co-host “Goumba Johnny” Sialiano has exited the station. All had the story first this morning that an internal memo was sent to staffers alerting them of the change.

His bio was deleted from the station’s website.

Sialiano had co-hosted with Sean “Hollywood” Hamilton since 1996 at the Clear Channel dance station. The duo teamed up for an evening show until moving to afternoons in 2006.

Goumba Johnny’s comments on the dismissal after the jump.

On his Facebook page, Goumba Johnny wrote:

It is with great sadness that I have to announce after 15 years I am leaving WKTU. I want to thank all of the listeners for their tremendous love and loyalty. It was a great 15 years where I got to work with a lot of really good people and made some great friendships that will last forever. I am very proud of the work I was able to do, on and off air, in the New York community. I’d like to thank everyone at ‘KTU for giving me that opportunity. I am looking forward to getting back on the air in New York City very soon, as I am exploring all opportunities that are available to me right now. Details to follow. But most of all, thank you so much and Merry Christmas. Love, Johnny.
