American speedskating gold medallist Joey Cheek used his media spotlight at the Olympics yesterday to announce he’s donating his prize money to Sudanese refugee children in Chad. Nice guy. One of his sponsors, Nike, according to NPR, stepped in to announce donations of $30,000 worth of “product.” We hope refugees like sneakers.
