Hot 97 DJ Funkmaster Flex was arrested on Friday for allegedly assaulting his wife at their Westchester home.
The Daily News reports a woman who identified herself as Flex’s wife told police that she and Flex (born Aston George Taylor, Jr.) had an argument over threatening text messages that he sent Thursday night.
Police say she attempted to call police with her cell phone, but Flex allegedly slapped the phone away and stomped on it.
He fled before cops arrived, but police say, was found a short distance away in his 2011 Chevrolet Camaro.
He was arrested on three counts of criminal mischief and harassment. Flex was arraigned Friday and released on $500 bail.
After making bail, Flex posted the mugshot pic on Twitter and his blog saying, “Man I never thought I’d be posting this.”
Funkmaster Flex has been a hip-hop personality for more than a decade, first getting notoriety on Yo! MTV Raps in the 1990s.
Flex is heard six days a week on Hot 97/WQHT.
