How Much Would You Pay for a Year of Time?

time070908.jpgWe rarely open magazine subscription offers that come to our apartment because, quite frankly, we get more free magazines then we know what to do with, but something about Time‘s offer that arrived in our mailbox yesterday piqued our interest. When we opened the envelope, we were surprised to see the struggling newsweekly following the Radiohead model, offering us 56 issues for whatever we chose to pay.

The copy is quite aggressive (emphasis theirs): “If, like our reader, you are intelligent and independent-minded, you will agree that although information is available everywhere, real insight is in short supply.”

So, intelligent, independent-minded readers, how much would you pay for a year’s subscription to Time?

(We wonder if the mag’s higher-ups know this model doesn’t make financial sense?)

Full offer after the jump.
