How to Land the Managing Editor Gig at Townsquare Media’s New Site, The Forward

Townsquare Media is launching a new website called The Forward, which will focus on viral videos, memes and other buzzworthy bits on the Web, but it needs a managing editor to lead the charge. The description for the gig outlines all that you would be taking on in this role, but we contacted the company to find out what it’s really looking for.

“The ideal candidate for this role has their finger on the pulse of what is trending on the web and in pop culture, and will be able to present it to the masses in an accessible and compelling way,” a rep tells The Job Post.

So, in addition to having at least five years of senior online editorial experience, and the ability to market the site through SEO and social media outreach, you’ll need to have a solid grasp on what’s hot on the Internet. If you can spot the next Rebecca Black before her video hits 10,000 plays, even better. Those who think they have what it takes should apply here.
