James Surowiecki Launches New Blog at The New Yorker

Timing is everything! So, in light of the ever-deepening financial crisis, what better time for The New Yorker‘s resident business expert James Surowiecki to become the latest addition to the New Yorker‘s line up of blogs. Starting this week Surowiecki will be penning the Balance Sheet. And it seems to be a good fit — Surowiecki has filed a number of lengthy posts since Wednesday, complete with embedded videos. This from his inaugural post:

The only other thing I’ll say by way of introduction is that the economics and business blogosphere that I hope I’ll become a part of is extraordinarily rich and engaging, featuring a fantastic mix of academics, practitioners, and journalists. The substance and rigor of the thinking on display every day is amazing, and I hope can add something meaningful to that ongoing conversation.

He also thinks Bush has actually made some good speeches re the economic crisis, the problem being his credibility is shot and NO ONE IS LISTENING.
