Jeff Zucker has blog envy
NBC TV honcho Jeff Zucker suggested that his anchors oughta be blogging at yesterday’s Yahoo! broadband conference (because, you know, there aren’t enough bloggers in the world).
Zucker said that networks need to become more interactive (although maybe he meant “NBC needs to become more interactive” because CNN, MSNBC and ABC all have blogs). “I don’t know why Brian Williams isn’t blogging right now,” he said (presumably petulantly).
He also suggested that Katie Couric should be blogging (or doing something to perk up Today’s slipping ratings)(good luck to you, new Today Show producer Jim Bell!)
Meanwhile, at the National Association of Broadcasters conference in Vegas, showoff Jeff Greenfield of CNN said HE got up an hour earlier just to read blogs, ’cause he’s no baked-potato brain.
p.s. We think Zucker should start a blog! We’d totally read it. Seriously, Jeff, think it over. Just please don’t subject us to anymore Kirstie Alley
