Jets Nailbiter Against Steelers Number One For Week


The Jets holding on against the Steelers Sunday night was the number one prime time show in New York.

The 4:15 p.m. game crossed into evening by 15 minutes.

Solidifying the top spot, according to the Nielsen Company, there were 1.8 million viewers on WCBS and a 9.1 rating.

The Jets finish gave 60 Minutes a number two position for the week (1.6 million/8.2).

The Giants and Vikings, rescheduled for another city and day, was third-highest for the week. Shifted to Monday night, the WNYW broadcast had 1.5 million tuned in and a 7.8 rating.

WNBC also got into the football ratings surge. Sunday Night Football (Patriots holding off the Packers) was fifth (1.1 million/5.6).
