Jewish 50 Cent Drops Rap For Jesus

Aviad Cohen, the man behind mock gangsta rapper 50 Shekel, appears to have had a change of faith. Or, at least, name.

The Jackson Heights-raised musician began to question Judaism “through a series of events” including the release of Mel Gibson‘s Passion of the Christ.

“Little did I know Jesus was more Jewish than my rabbi,” Cohen told CBN in an interview. Cohen thusly dropped the 50 Shekel label and recently issued Hooked On the Truth — a compilation of his original rap songs that now includes “a reading from Psalm and Mark” — and abandoned “lustful actions in looking for satisfaction through sex.”

“Who cares about the sex? I want the Savior.”
