Jill Ishkanian’s $55 Million Lawsuit

Jossip posts some of the details of Jill Ishkanian’s $55 million lawsuit against Us Weekly. The ethical quandaries facing a celebrity gossip reporter are the most curious aspects contained within. For example, Ishkanian, a former Star reporter, ”vehemently objected” to Us Weekly doing a story on prescription medication bottles retrieved from Ben Affleck’s garbage on the grounds that it was ”unethical,” ”reprehensible,” and ”not newsworthy.”

Right, right.

On the other hand, Ishkanian is unhappy that she was not credited with breaking the Paris Hilton sex tape, ”which became an international news sensation.”

Real 3 A.M. C-Span ”Ethics in Journalism” stuff, no?
