John Madden Retires, Honored With Listicle

46347157.jpgThe most important announcer in history retired yesterday after 30 years in the broadcasting business. Say why you will about John Madden — he sort of lost the plot during his last few seasons in the booth, no? — but his legacy will live on longer than any other announcing personality (not the least of which is because of his video game, the best-selling game ever produced).

So how did media outlets honor his three decade-long tenure? Well, the Chicago Tribune did it with a listicle highlighting the legacy Madden leaves behind. Bullet points include “Boom!,” “One Knee Equals Two Feet” and “Turducken.”

Look, we love a good listicle as much as the next guy, but some people deserve more, you know?
