Jolie in NYC: Not to sound too corny, but sometimes beauty comes from within

JolieNYC.jpgSigh. We had hoped it wasn’t true but sadly it is: Jolie wrote a blog that lots of us enjoyed, and she lost her job because of it. If you read her blog you know she loved her job, and it sounded like she was pretty darn good at it. She’s back up on the web with a post to her readers explaining her side of the past few days:

As you may have read in a little paper called the New York Post, I’ve been outed: my name is Nadine Haobsh, and I was a beauty editor for one of the most popular magazines in the country. I say “was” because there is a predictable end to this story: I came clean to my bosses about my blog — which very, very unfortunately coincided with a job offer from another top magazine — and gave my two weeks notice, which was declined. As luck would have it, once the Post story broke, my new magazine decided to rescind the offer. And that’s the end of that chapter.

Jolie is hanging tough, though, because what else is she supposed to do? We have faith that a tough, plucky, funny gal like her can land on her feet. Plus she’s proved to be an able multi-tasker, holding down a busy job, running two blogs and all the while finding the time to look fabulous! Some savvy editor with a sense of humour will snap her up in no time.

Stay gorgeous, Jolie. We have no doubt we’ll be bloggin’ big stuff about you in no time flat. Once again, this one’s for you.
