Journos Attempt to Save Minneapolis Star Tribune

startribue04.07.09.jpgIn January, the Minneapolis Star Tribune filed for bankruptcy, putting its future in jeopardy. Employees of the paper are fighting back, launching a Web site asking readers to help save the paper.

A statement on the welcome page reads:

Those of us who write, photograph, design and produce the Star Tribune have launched this web site because we want to keep local journalism strong. With the Star Tribune in bankruptcy, our company faces an uncertain future. We’re asking the community to help us build a compelling case to potential new ownership that the citizens of Minnesota believe, as we do, that the Star Tribune is a vital part of our civic life. … We care deeply about the Star Tribune, and believe that our most trusted allies — you, our readers — can play a powerful role in shaping our future.

So far, six people have commented, the majority positively.
