Judi Giuliani‘s a smart cookie. After two scathing profiles of her were published in Vanity Fair and New York, Giuliani had the good sense to contact the New York Times for an interview.
Highlights of Judith Giuliani’s talk with the NYT:
Giuliani: Being a political wife “is a learning curve for me.”
NYT‘s Eric Konigsberg: “Strategists are asking dueling questions: Can he win over socially conservative voters if his wife is not by his side? Can he win them over if she is?”
Konigsberg: “Mrs. Giuliani declined to comment when asked how she felt about dating a married man, or the complications involved in seeing him secretly.”
Giuliani: Uncomfortable talking about politics, but “I’m really happy to talk to you about staphylococcus and streptococcus.”
Rudy Giuliani: “Any candidate that’s lived a long life is going to have made a certain number of mistakes,” he said. “For some people, this’ll make it difficult, if not impossible, for them to vote for me.”
