Katharine Q. Seelye two-fer
Katharine Q. Seelye seems to be everywhere we look today, which is just fine because we like typing her fun name (we found out her middle name is “Quimby,” a family name. We like that much better than other middle initials that shall remain numberless).
Kit’s first must-read (for that is what those in the know call her, apparently, like David Hasselhoff’s car except presumably with one less ‘t’) is on one of our favorite subjects, the decline and fall of the printed word. But no! Apparently, magazines and newspapers are looking to beat advertisers at their own game by targeting them with multi-million dollar ‘print-friendly’ ad campagins – to the tune of $40-million for magazines and “multi-million” for newspapers.</a Good luck with that.
Kit also brings us news of Barron's, keeping it real thanks to a new redesign, geared for “a speedier read” (apparently it takes two hours to read. Uh, I mean, it takes two hours to read!). Expect the snazzy new Barron’s on May 16th (we mean “expect” loosely).
We just with that Kit had written the NYT Magazine’s interview with Ted Koppel this weekend (actually written by Matt Bai), if only to get another chance to use the word “Koppelicious.”
