Latest Contender for Downie’s WaPo Job From the NYT
Add another name to the list of possible contenders for Len Downie‘s WaPo job. Politico is reporting that Washington Post publisher Katharine Weymouth is currently considering New York Times deputy managing editor Jonathan Landman.
Landman was reportedly spotted meeting with Downie on June 13th; former WSJer Marcus Brauchli was also seen in the offices last week. Still, Landman apparently has now “shot directly into the top tier of candidates along with Brauchli, according to a source.” Landman himself won’t “confirm, deny or discuss.” Speaking solely for ourselves, between this, the revolving door that is the WSJ these days, and Meet the Press we are soon going to be in need of a flow chart to keep track of who is gaming for what.
