Animal Reimagines Brangelina As Several, Needles Radar

animal_issue_7_brangelina.jpg

Bucky Turco's Animal refuses to die. Err, "grovel like Radar." Having "finally scraped enough money together" to print issue #7 — the "Wildlife" issue to be released this weekend — Animal depicts Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie on its cover as a bird and full-lipped rhino, respectively. Turco and co. also use the occasion to coin the term "celebimal," with Paris Hilton, George Clooney and Lindsay Lohan reimagined as human-animal hybrids.

Turco, however, grovels in another way: "As part of what we hope to be a spin off gimmicky marketing angle, we are asking for a $1 donation via pay pal if people download the PDF version (and happen to like it)."

Turco's e-mail announcement of the issue:

ROAR. ANIMAL magazine finally scraped enough money together to print another issue (we refuse to grovel like Radar). Hurray! We present issue 7, (all 136 pages of it slathered in gloss) with the theme: Wildlife. While Bazaar attempts to shock with a naked pregnant Britney Spears on its cover, we instead titillate with our sexy full-lipped Brangelino cover featuring a parody of Brad Pitt (bird), Angelina Jolie (rhangelino), and nest of children represented as a "limited edition shrunken heads necklace." The cover, illustrated by gossipist-artisan "14" of GalleryoftheAbsurd.com, is part of our CELEBIMALS mega-feature: ANIMAL asked "14" and writer Michael K. from Dlisted.com to create celebrity-ANIMAL hybrids of Hollywood's most talked about stars. So we recreated Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, George Clooney, and other Hollywood favorites. The magazine hits the streets and newsstands this weekend. However, if you can't stand to wait, download a PDF of the whole magazine online right now at animalnewyork.com/issue7/. As part of what we hope to be a spin off gimmicky marketing angle, we are asking for a $1 donation via pay pal if people download the PDF version (and happen to like it). ANIMAL expects to sell over 1 million copies and become rich quick.
