Anna Wintour Named Editor Of The YearAnna Wintour, editrix of Vogue, ire of PETA and inspiration of the book-turned-film Devil Wears Prada, has been named editor of the year by Advertising Age, which announced its annual A-List here at the American Magazine Conference in Phoenix. Despite the prevailing notion that nothing more could possibly be said about Kevin Federline's choice of bedtime wear, In Touch Weekly was named to the A-List at #10. People, Vogue and New York were named no.s 6, 5 and 4, respectively. Condé Nast's home-a-log Domino and Everyday With Rachael Ray were named launches of the year. Despite folding Organic Style, Rodale was named publishing company of the year. Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia CEO Susan Lyne was named executive of the year, in part for keeping Stewart's Living afloat while Martha was "crotcheting" in a West Virginia penitentiary. Wintour was not in attendance to pick up her award; instead, AdAge projected a short film featuring Wintour, after which AdAge's Jonah Bloom noted: "Paris, Milan, London ... Phoenix clearly isn't on that schedule." FishbowlNY's AMC 2006 Coverage: Email This Post |
