A tipster informs FishbowlNY that Rodale's Women's Health is in "chaos" under new editor Michele Promaulayko. The former Cosmopolitan executive editor has been on the WH job for three weeks but has yet to meet with the full staff and rumors are swirling that she's going to replace departing or fired staff with people she worked with at Hearst.

Features director Nicole Beland jumped ship to become executive editor at Cosmopolitan and we hear she'll be replaced by current Cosmo deputy editor Lesley Rotchford. Beauty editor Liesa Goins has been let go and talk around the office is that former CosmoGirl!-er Molly Nover will replace her.

There's also some discussion that Promaulayko wants to drastically change the look of the book, making it nothing like inspiration, Men's Health. The April issue — currently closing — is her first one in charge.

After a three-month search, Promaulayko replaced launch editor Tina Johnson. Women's Health started strong but has since fallen on hard times along with the rest of the industry, with ad pages down 1.9 percent in the fourth quarter of 2008, compared to the same period on 2007, according to Publishers Information Bureau data.
