WWD suggested earlier today that Condé Nast was having some trouble finding a replacement for Suzanne Grimes, who was poached by her former boss and new Reader's Digest chief Mary Berner. Well, they found one:

Amy Churgin Named Senior Vice President, Condé Nast Media Group

Amy Churgin has been named Senior Vice President of the Condé Nast Media Group overseeing Corporate Sales, it was announced today by Richard D. Beckman, President, Condé Nast Media Group and Chief Marketing Officer, Condé Nast Publications. Her appointment is effective immediately.

"Amy is one of the most respected publishers in the business," said Beckman. "Her knowledge and range of experience, both at Condé Nast and within the industry, makes her a valued senior executive and I look forward to her joining me in taking the Media Group to the next level." In February 2007, Churgin was named Vice President and Publisher of Gourmet after seven years as Vice President and Publisher of Architectural Digest. Prior to joining Condé Nast in 1999, Churgin was Group Publisher at Primedia where she oversaw New York, Chicago, and Automobile. From 1994 to 1998, Churgin was Publisher of New York. Previously, she was Associate Publisher at Seventeen, Advertising Director at Elle, and Advertising Director at European Travel & Life.

Ms. Churgin graduated from Lehigh University and received a Master's degree in Art History from Hunter College. She lives in New York with her husband and their two daughters.

Thomas H. Hartman, associate publisher at Gourmet, takes over for Churgin as publisher.
