We've confirmed a tip that Ken Schlager is the new editor-in-chief of New Jersey Monthly. Once upon a time, the veteran business journalist was executive editor at Billboard [REDACTED].

UPDATE: The publisher's office at NJ Monthly says Schlager will be editor of NJ Monthly and Park Place as well as editorial director of New Jersey Bride.

UPDATE II: Schlager writes to clarify, "The fictitious charges against me in the suit against VNU were long-ago discredited by a judge. I was completely cleared of any wrongdoing. (VNU later settled with the plaintiffs on the matter of wrongful dismissal, which was independent of the claims against me, all of which were dismissed.)"
