NYMag.com Goes Mobile
The blogs have proven to be powerful traffic drivers on nymag.com, generating nearly 10 million page views in November 2008, and therefore bring a devoted readership that will be invited to follow the blogs from browser-enabled phones, Blackberries and iPhones.Full release after the jump. New York, NY, December 2, 2008 Nymag.com today launched a beta mobile site at m.nymag.com featuring content from its four popular blogs: Daily Intel on news, The Cut on fashion, Grub Street on food and restaurants, and Vulture on culture and entertainment. The mobile site provides a clean, intuitive interface that lets users catch up with the latest from nymag.com blogs while on the go. Though still in beta pending additional enhancements in 2009, m.nymag.com marks an important step in bringing the breadth of nymag.com’s content mobile. The blogs have proven to be powerful traffic drivers on nymag.com, generating nearly 10 million page views in November 2008, and therefore bring a devoted readership that will be invited to follow the blogs from browser-enabled phones, Blackberries and iPhones. Nymag.com also offers users the ability to send restaurant and store listing information to their mobile devices as text messages. Mobile visitors to nymag.com, which is not optimized for mobile devices, will be given the option of redirecting to m.nymag.com or remaining on the parent site. M.nymag.com will display banner advertisements from key New York Media clients, providing advertisers an opportunity to engage with a trusted, innovative brand in an emerging medium.
