Matt Pinfield Makes Radio Return as Host Cumulus of Weekend Show; Not Heard in NYC

Matt Pinfield, displaced from on his on-air gig when Emmis sold WRXP to Merlin Media last summer, is back in radio.

Starting the weekend of January 20th, Pinfield hosts Flashback, a new Classic Rock show for Cumulus Media. The program focuses on tracks from the 60s, 70s, and 80s, featuring news footage, and TV and movie clips within the broadcast.

Pinfield’s show will air on 219 Cumulus station nationwide. The show, however, will not be heard in the New York City metro area. The closest Pinfield will get to reaching his New York fans is WRCN-FM in Riverhead and WPDH in Poughkeepsie.

“Matt brings a wealth of experience and great brand recognition to one of our industry’s more iconic shows,” Cumulus COO John Dickey said.  “He is a great fit and demonstrates our commitment to developing and growing great product for ournetwork and the industry.”

Pinfield, 45, became popular as a MTV personality in the 1990s hosting 120 Minutes. When the format was flipped at ‘RXP in July, Pinfield was back as the alternative music program and was resurrected on MTV2.
