The night Max wore his wolf suit and made mischief of one kind and another his mother called him "Wild Thing!" and Max said "I'LL EAT YOU UP!" so he was sent to bed without eating anything.

We're not suggesting you need to dress up like a wolf (don't let us stop you, either) or (God forbid!) go without supper, however, should you feel the lack of Maurice Sendak in your life you may want to check out The Unterberg Poetry Center of the 92nd Street Y line-up, which among many other things (including Judy Blume!) is featuring "A Celebration of Maurice Sendak, with Tony Kushner, Meryl Streep, James Gandolfini, Dave Eggers, Spike Jonze." (Eggers and Jonze have collaborated on the movie version of Where the Wild Things Are). Go here for more info. For some reason tickets appear to be cheaper if you're under 35.
