- Oh Jann, Wenner you gonna learn? Big scoop today out of WWD: Jann Wenner is driving Us Weekly editrix Janice Min bonkers with micromanagement. Apparently he really wants to make sure that he gets his money’s worth, and also doesn’t realize that taking 8 days off for maternity leave is insane. Nice work from Jeff Bercoviddy and WWD! [WWD]
- Oh Britney, Wenner you gonna learn? Also giving Janice Min a headache is Britney Spears, who is suing Us Weekly for a whopping $10 million claiming that their story about her screening a sex tape featuring Brit and hubby K-Fed was untrue. Min begs to differ; so, too, does Page Six, from experience. Oh Brit. Focus on keeping your man at home and the Weedman away. Leave the reporting to the pros. P.S. The same could be said for Jann, except for the part about the Weedman (although we did see “Almost Famous”). [NYP]

Stan’s column, and at this point we just kind of smack ourselves on the forehead and wonder who at the NYT is not editing this woman. This would never happen under Wenner’s watch, people. - A kiss on the hand may be quite continental, but platinum is a girl’s best friend: NYT media scribe Julie Bosman writes today that the platinum industry is doing its best to make engagement rings that much more expensive. In other news, pity the poor fool who tries to fob off white gold on Bosman – girlfriend knows the diffrence. NB The headline is a bit misleading though – at first it read like platinum was replacing diamonds and I feared for my eventual big, sparkly plaything. Two month’s salary boys! Here I am! [NYT]
