New York Daily News Loses Digital Editor
Scott Cohen, the Digital Executive Editor of The New York Daily News, is leaving the paper. According to The New York Observer, Cohen is headed to Vocativ, a startup that bills itself as an “innovative news platform focused on social and political change, the economy and tech.”
It’s been an odd month for the tabloid. It started with James Dolan accusing the Daily News and Mort Zuckerman of extortion. Then, about a week later, veteran staffers Melissa Grace and Tom Zambito exited the paper. And — just yesterday — Colin Myler, the Daily News’ Editor-in-Chief, was hit with allegations that he tried to intimidate British investigators while he was editor of News of The World.
We would say that Zuckerman can’t wait for March, but we think drama will always be hovering over the paper, no matter what month it is.
