New York Press: Maybe they’re freeing up funds for a copy editor
Steve Weinstein, a “consulting editor” for New York Blade, has been removed from his job as associate publisher of the beleagured (but rampantly manifesto-ing) New York Press. Actually, owner Avalon Equity Partners decided get rid of the associate publisher position entirely.

The New York Press has consolidated the Associate Publisher position as a continuation of it’s on going cost reduction program. Steve Weinstein was affected by this consolidation and will be in and out of the office this week closing out unfinished projects.
I wish Steve all the best as he will be missed by all of us.
