MLB Nears Video Deal With iTunesMLB Advanced Media, the multimedia arm of Major League Baseball, is nearing a deal with Apple to provide video content to iTunes. As Sports Business Journal points out, the deal would be "the latest and arguably most prominent sports entity to align itself" with iTunes: Through most of the sports world, the prevailing attitude has instead been to actively search and pull clips from YouTube as a means to protect existing distribution channels. Which is why a search for "David Wright" video leads to these types of messages: "This video has been removed at the request of copyright owner MLB Advanced Media because its content was used without permission." Luckily, MLB hasn't decided to pull quirky retro clips, like old New York Mets WOR-TV promos set to blaxploitation film scores.
