Hachette Filipacchi Media, publisher of Elle magazine, among others (twelve titles to be exact) has announced that Alain Lemarchand (he's currently directeur general Delegue of Paris-based, Hachette-owned Lagardere Active) has been named as the new CEO.
Jack Kliger, who took over in 1999, (where, as Portfolio points out, was left to deal with George magazine after JFK Jr.'s sudden death in a plane crash) will become the Chairman effective Sept 1. Kliger says he intends "to concentrate on developing strategic relationships for the company."
