Newsday Media Group President Resigns, Replaced by Publisher

Terry Jimenez, President of Newsday Media Group since 2010, has resigned. The New York Observer reports that Fred Groser, Publisher of Newsday and amNewYork, will succeed him.

Jimenez wrote in an internal memo that “It has been a privilege to be a part of an organization such such a storied past and a bright future, while navigating through challenging times in our business, industry, and economy.”

Tad Smith, head of local media at Newsday Media Group’s parent Cablevision, added that Jiminez has positioned the papers for further success. “Among many achievements, he has guided the implementation of a bold new digital strategy —  which he ensured is working well (it is) — and then led it to a place of stability with a bright future,” wrote Smith.
