News Corp. just agreed to purchase Dutch-language news wire Betten Financial News and to make them the newest component of Dow Jones Newswires' European operation. Terms of the deal weren't disclosed. According to Clare Hart of Dow Jones:

"We're dedicated to increasing our coverage of local markets in local languages, and this acquisition helps us to better serve the needs of our European customers."

Meanwhile, Michael Calderone reported on Rupert Murdoch's visit to the Wall Street Journal's DC bureau. Same as it ever was? Maybe. Or maybe not... Word is the Journal was considering luring Chris Cillizza away from the WaPo.
