So now you own a newspaper, and a deteriorating printing plant, and for the most you have no idea what you're doing. Sound familiar? The folks at Cablevision are experiencing just such a dilemma, but as they say, the first step is understanding you have a problem and it looks like they've gotten that far, at least.

At yesterday's shareholder meeting Cablevision chairman Charles Dolan told attendees that as far as the future of Newsday is concerned,

We're very aware of our inexperience with newspapers...We plan to consult widely and seek advice from people who have backgrounds and are professionals in the field.
