Newsweek To Launch Pakistan Edition In September

newsweek_3.5.10.jpgNewsweek Pakistan is expected to debut in September of this year, becoming the first Pakistan-based magazine produced by a “western” publication. The new, English-language paper will feature both local and international stories.

Pakistan offers less restrictions on foreign-owned publications than does, say, India, which has lead to a steadily growing media industry in that country, including the growth of privately-owned television stations.

Newsweek Pakistan will be Newsweek‘s eighth local edition published under licence in a foreign country. The publication is poised to start off with a print run of 30,000 copies.
