Novak: The best defense is a good offense
Robert Novak may be the most unpopular man in journalism today, but he does get the scoopage. Today he’s reporting that, after all that, Supreme Court Chief Justice William Rehnquist is shortly to announce his own resignation. Curveball! Novak gets this intel from “court sources,” and I leave the inevitable punchline to you. If Rehnquist steps down this week it will certainly be the cherry on the massively-huge news week cake (not to be confused with yellowcake, which apparently is not as delicious as it sounds). Novak has some interesting things to say about Bush’s cronyism damning AG Gonzo (yo yo yo). We kind of admire his defiant business-as-usual stance considering that Jay Rosen thinks the journalism community should make him feel like Alan Feuer in the NYT communal kitchenette. Whether or not he’s got the moral authority to back it up remains the secret that he’s not telling. [Chicago Sun-Times via Wonkette]
