NYT Borrows Condé’s Soup Chef

The guest chef today at the New York Times’ 11th Floor cafeteria, advertised with a big bold photo on a nice piece of easel-mounted posterboard, was Ben Pang.

Pang, it said, was borrowed from Condé Nast, whose elegant cafeteria, unlike the Times‘, sports sushi made to order, an Asian dish-du-jour bar, a do-it-yourself espresso machine, and big curvey made-to-order Frank Gehry-designed windows that cost a big bundle and lots of crane time to install.

The poster said Pang’s specialty was soup. (Dang, we didn’t have our camera.)
