PageSix.com Closure: The Announcement

This just in from PageSix.com publicists Rubenstein Associates:

Jennifer Jehn, Senior Vice President of pagesix.com, announced that pagesix.com is being closed down, effective today.

Ms. Jehn said: “Given the difficulty in the economy, it was not the right time for this launch.”

A total of eighteen editorial and support staffers will be let go and three reassigned within the New York Post.

Page Six, the nation’s leading gossip column, is unaffected by this change and will still be available each day at nypost.com and of course on your newsstand in the New York Post.

You got it folks, blame the recession. We’ll keep you posted on who’s staying/who’s going as soon as we know ourselves.
