Pemberton’s July Editor’s Letter Offers No Hint Of Spin Exit

spin_0706_beyonce.jpgAs we recently reported, Spin editor Andy Pemberton is all but done. With no official confirmation as of yet, we were curious to see the July issue — which, as we also reported earlier, features Beyoncé on its cover — and Pemberton’s Editor’s Letter.

And aside from his argument for putting Beyoncé on the cover (“The clincher for me is that she came up with ‘Crazy in Love’: one of the best pop songs ever written”) Pemberton offers little in the way of a clue to his status perpetually in limbo.

Inside, the July issue takes an apparent earnest (if bizarre) turn, publishing an open letter from Spin to drug-addled Babyshambles frontman Pete Doherty, urging him to get clean.

Oh, and that thing about the magazine covering music and the surrounding culture? Roughly nine of Spin‘s 25 Hottest Stars Under 25 are musicians.
