Playboy 3D Centerfold: For Men Who Appreciate A Lady With Many Dimensions

playboy_3D_5.11.10.jpgProving that 3D technology isn’t reserved for newspapers or high-budget remakes of Pocahontas 2: Smurf’s Up, Playboy is introducing a 3D centerfold in its June issue, featuring Playmate Hope Dworaczyk in all her multi-dimensional glory.

When asked the eternal question — “What would would people most like to see in 3D?” — Playboy founder Hugh Hefner answered “Probably a naked lady.” The Playboy franchise has recently been whittling down its losses ($1 million in the first quarter of this year compared to $13.7 million that time last year) and is planning on extending its brand across various licensing opportunities, so it wouldn’t be too far-fetched to say the iconic men’s magazine isn’t above looking into orchestrating a stunt or two to drum up interest, publicity and readership.

After all, says Hefner, magazines provide something computers and TV simply can’t: Easy access and, perhaps more importantly, the opportunity to explore myriad hiding places. It’s practically a tradition:

This particular picture is one example of how books and magazines are different (than computer images). You can hold it in your hands, save them, and as Dad used to, put them under the mattress.

NOT OUR DAD.
