R.I.P. TimesSelect

TimesSelect is outta here. The Times has made the decision to pull the plug on it, as we recently speculated. Currently, the main thing keeping TimesSelect going is that there are software issues related to the transition to a free service. According to Times spokesperson Catherine Mathis, “We continue to evaluate the best approach for NYTimes.com.” So Mickey Kaus was right, after all.
