Reuters has suspended photographer Adnan Hajj and killed his photo [above, middle] of Beirut after admitting “photo editing software was improperly used” to alter the image.

As UnBeige notes, Hajj a reputation for blowing extra smoke into his images of war-torn Beirut.

Reuters’ head of PR Moira Whittle issued this statement: “Reuters has suspended a photographer until investigations are completed into changes made to a photograph showing smoke billowing from buildings following an air strike on Beirut. Reuters takes such matters extremely seriously as it is strictly against company editorial policy to alter pictures.”
