Ripped from the Headlines of the Onion

star-tribune-offends-internet-with-race-allusion-in-obama-headline.2437373.51.jpgNo matter how desperately the Obama campaign appears to not want to let it happen it looks like this country is determined to talk about race, even if it often seems to happen as a result of people making a big deal over the smallest things.

Seems a reporter at the Minneapolis-St. Paul Star Tribune got the fun idea to title a piece about Barack Obama‘s visit to a local breakfast spot “Guess Who’s Coming to Breakfast?” in reference to the famous Sidney Poitier film about a white woman who brings her black fiance home. Apparently upon seeing this the “entire internet… unleashed its fury” — or at least the entire internet in Minnesota not possessing any sense of humor. The title was changed to “Obama in St. Paul: Silk stockings and buttermilk pancakes” so apparently better to point out elitistism(?) than the fact the candidate is black. Or something.
