Selena Roberts Leaves Sports Illustrated

Selena Roberts, one of Sports Illustrated’s best writers, has left the magazine. According to The Big Lead, Roberts has been gone from SI since the end of December, when her contract expired.

“Highlighted by her reporting on the abuse of performance enhancing drugs in baseball, Selena has done significant work for Sports Illustrated,” said Terry McDonell, Editor of the Time Inc. Sports Group, in a statement to The Big Lead. “She will no doubt be successful in her endeavors and everyone at Sports Illustrated wishes her the best.”

Roberts said that she is now working on creating a sports journalism app, and that other journalists will be joining the venture soon.
